Dell Optiplex GX110 Classic Business Computer System for sale in Shirley, MA
This 2000 vintage business computer system was restored and upgraded three years ago and has had little use since. It works surprisingly well for its age. It features an 866 Mhz Socket 370 Pentium III Processor, a Western Digital 80 GB 7200 RPM hard drive, 512 MB of PC133 SDRAM memory, built in speakers (like many business computers have), built in networking card, a 56k V.92 Motorola Data/Fax Modem, 2 USB 1.1 ports (in the rear), 3-button mouse, keyboard, floppy drive, Zip drive, and CD-ROM. The included monitor is a 1997 vintage Phillips 14" CRT unit whose performance has been consistent over many years. The only performance issue in the system occurs occasionally during boot up. As part of the upgrade, I installed a quieter fan than the original. Although the exact size, it may have a different speed, so the BIOS will sometimes flash a message that no system fan is detected. You then have to press F1 to continue the boot up. It appears, though, that the more frequently you use the computer, the less likely this message is to appear. Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3 is currently installed, which is an upgrade from the original Windows 2000. All updates are current through late September. Also included is a backup disc of the operating system in a packet with other discs and paperwork.
